Dit betoverende gebied wordt gekenmerkt door eindeloze wijngaarden, charmante dorpen, en majestueuze kastelen die oprijzen boven de wijngaarden. Onze reis begon in het idyllische Cochem, een Duitse wijnstad aan de oevers van de Moezel. Dit was het vertrekpunt voor een midweek vol avontuur in het Moezeldal, een bestemming die een paradijs blijkt te zijn voor wandelliefhebbers. Hoog boven de rivier de Moezel, in een vakantiepark van Roompot, vonden we ons toevluchtsoord, omringd door weelderige natuur. We nemen je mee op een reis door de betoverende Moezelvallei, waar wandelen in het Moezeldal, het verkennen van kastelen langs de Moezel, en gezapig kuieren in Cochem hand in hand Waar wijn weelderig vloeit en heerlijk genoten wordt van de overdadige en lekkere Duitse keuken. Het wordt pas echt betoverend, ja zelfs een tikje overweldigend, wanneer er een kasteel statig zijn torens boven druivenranken, pittoreske kerkjes en de kenmerkende witte huizen uitsteekt. Cochem\u2019s kasteel is een typevoorbeeld van een dergelijk herkenningspunt, herkenbaar van ver. Impressionant hoe deze burcht zich fier en groots toont aan iedereen die deze bekende Duitse wijnstad, gelegen aan de rivier Moezel, binnen komt gereden of gevaren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Slenteren door de Reichsburg van Cochem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Als je op zoek bent naar een vakantie aan de Moezel, is Cochem een uitstekende bestemming. Geniet van een weekend aan de Moezel en verken het prachtige landschap door te wandelen in het Moezeldal. Ontdek wandelroutes in Cochem en bewonder het prachtige kasteel aan de Moezel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De oergezellige, middeleeuws aanvoelende wandelstraatjes van Cochem vormen dan ook het startpunt van de \u2018veroveringstocht\u2019 richting het kasteel aan de Moezel, uittorend boven het landschap. Het landschap wordt groener en het kasteel krijgt de prominente ereplaats daartussenin. De kasseien aan de ingangspoort van het kasteel bereikend, voel je jezelf al snel bescheiden door zoveel statige pracht. Een gegidste bezoek door het kasteel aan de Moezel is een absolute must. Een lange zig wordt gevolgd door een uitgestrekte zag. Kuitenbijtertjes. Stevige hellingsgraden zorgen voor een korte, krachtige inspanning. Het uitzicht bovenop de top over de stad, rivier en Cochem\u2019s kasteel doen je niet meer naar adem happen door de stevige wandeling, maar wel door het uitgestrekte panorama. Ons hart klopt in onze keel als we dit spectaculaire zicht van bovenop de heuvel aanschouwen, deels door de pracht en kracht van de machtige en <a href=\"https:\/\/alongcameanelephant.com\/nl\/calmont-klettersteig-moezel-wandelen\/\">kronkelende Moezelrivier<\/a> op het Duitse natuurlandschap, deels ook door de inspanning van de klimwandeling. Daarboven vergeet een mens echter snel al dat fysieke labeur. Fascinatie is het juiste woord. Admiratie voor hoe een rivier zich op de meest wonderbaarlijke wijze doorheen een landschap weet te slingeren. Genieten in stilte, hoewel, toegegeven, nog steeds een tikje uithijgend van de klimpartij, en het stilleven bewonderen dat zich voor onze ogen heeft ontvouwd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hadden we trouwens al gezegd dat deze regio gekend staat voor het feit dat nergens anders in Europa wijnranken staan op zulke steile hellingen? Als je op zoek bent naar wat extra avontuur tijdens je vakantie aan de Moezel, dan is de \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/alongcameanelephant.com\/nl\/calmont-klettersteig-moezel-wandelen\/\">Klettersteig<\/a>\u201d tussen de dorpjes Ediger-Eller en Bremm een absolute aanrader. Een wandelroute waar je kan klimmen en klauteren tussen, door en langs steile wijngaarden. De vergezichten, de betoverende dorpjes, de vele prachtige kastelen die zich in sommige gevallen verstopt hebben temidden van de natuurlijke omgeving. Inderdaad, wandelen langs Duitse velden bovenop de heuvelkam, door weelderige loofbossen om vervolgens te botsen op een betoverende burcht midden in de natuur. achterna in Beilstein: de Schone Slaapster van het Moezeldal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Een andere tocht bracht ons naar Beilstein, bijna in het midden tussen Bremm en Cochem zelf. De locals omschrijven deze plaats en de burcht hier ook wel al eens als Doornroosjes kasteel. Het steeds terugkerende lichtspel van blauw, groen, wit en reflecterend rivierwater maakt ook van deze plaats een absolute must-do op ieders Moezelstreek-lijstje. Vervelen doet het nooit, juist omdat de kleurschakeringen blijven verrassen, telkens opnieuw zo wondermooi. Zeker afvinken dus als je in de buurt bent. Wel opletten dat je Doornroosje niet stoort tijdens haar schoonheidsslaapje. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vanuit Beilstein een paar hellingen bestijgen in de richting van Cochem en je wordt dan bovendien (opnieuw) beloond met surre\u00ebel mooie landschappen. Met aan de ene kant van de rivier een zicht op Doornroosjes kasteel en aan de andere kant van de majestueuze Moezel, zie je groene wijngaarden die als een lappendeken de omgeving opvullen. Dit moet toch het wijnparadijs op aarde zijn. Aperitieven in dit nazomerse lichtspel, uitkijkend vanop een terras. Rust overvalt ons. Een mijmerende glimlach. De temperaturen nog voldoende nazomers zacht opdat ze een van de laatste keren dit jaar hun orkest ten gehoor brengen voor de stille genieters. Een zeer beperkte kaart maar erg lekker en lief voor de portemonnee. En ook al eindigde ons avontuur na 5 dagen vol wandel- en wijnavonturen, wij moeten niet meer overtuigd worden: wij komen zeker terug!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Onderweg naar huis een bezoek aan Trier meepikken?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Handige tip als je je vakantie in de Moezelstreek nog wil uitbreiden met een portie authentieke geschiedenis uit het Romeinse Rijk: voorzie een stop in Trier. Flaneer door deze Duitse stad vertrekkende vanaf de oude Porta Nigra, een originele, goed bewaarde oud-Romeinse stadspoort. Wandel door richting het stadscentrum en begeef je naar de&nbsp; goed bewaarde Romeinse thermen, de ontmoetings- en badplaats \u2018to be\u2019 een kleine 2000 jaar geleden. Een boogscheut of 2 verder, bijna aan de andere zijde van de stad gelegen ten opzichte van de Porta Nigra is er het Trierse Colosseum. \u2018Impressionant\u2019 lijkt het meest geschikte woord om deze stad te benoemen. Trier: zeker langsgaan om een dagje teruggeslingerd te worden doorheen de geschiedenis.
